there are so many things i take issue with from this video. the first, and most obvious one would be their ages. these boys have only been legally able to get tattooed for 4 and 6 years respectivly. to have covered that much of your body in such a short space of time, to me, lacks forethought and future planning.
i completely understand the need/want to keep getting more tattoos, especially when you’re in a position such as they were, where they had access to cheap/free tattoos from reputable vendors. however, this is where that crazy thing called self-control comes in. if you are covered by the age of 22, not only are you severly limiting your employment and general life prospects, you’re not able to get any more new tattoos for the rest of your life. that is, unless you go through the painful and expensive process of lazering off your old ones, or getting them covered up, which brings me full circle to the issues of forethought and planning.further to this issue, it’s pretty obvious that your tastes are going to change over time. it’s fine if you have 1 or even 5 individual pieces from in your early 20’s that you eventually decide over a number of years you might not like. it’s totally another story when you’ve completed your entire body before you’ve even had a chance to fully develop and explore the type of person you might become.
on that point also, i found it humorous that he is so proud that despite everything everyone has told him about breaking edge, after one whole year since being able to legally drink he is still straight edge. i’m not in any capacity saying that it’s not possible to stay straight edge for a long time, even for the rest of your life, but he’s made a huge permanent committment to something before he’s legally even been able to experience it.
oh and remember! if you’re a woman, just don’t get tattooed at all, because some random douchebag with yellow hair doesn’t find it attractive! it doesn’t matter that you would probably get tattooed for your own satisfaction, because you like the way it looks and/or it’s meaningful for you, always remember that when it comes to tattoos, the most important thing is what other people think of you. but playboy is great, modifying your body is cool again ladies, as long as dudes can get a boner from it.
